BA studies take place over a period of 3 years for all specializations. Each specialization has its own study plan, divided in modules: fundamental subjects – theoretical and practical, specialization subjects and complementary specializations that can be compulsory or optional, as well as a series of facultative disciplines. The candidates who have passed the BA examination receive the BA Diploma and the diploma supplement.

The studies in the field of high artistic education are finalized with an BA exam. The exam can be passed by all the graduates who have fullfilled their educational duties, including the number of credits according to the curricula. The tests, the way of organizing and developing the exams are based on a methodology that respects the general frame elaborated by yhr Ministry of Education and Research:
- history of art – fundamental knowledge in the field
- a speciality test (each department defines the specific domain for this test)
- presentation of the dyploma work (project)
The minimum average to promote this exam is 6,00.
The access to the BA exam is conditioned by a certificate of language competencies (in a language of international circulation) obtained either in the UAD or other acredited high education institution.
The candidates that passed the BA exam receive the BA dyploma.

Documentation practice and artistic production

The documentation practice and the artistic production fills in the activity in the University's workshops, validating the eficiency and the quality of the educational process. The practice modules are integrated in the semestrial activities and take place within the University's spaces or within the firms and enterprises in Cluj, according to the interests of filling the applicative dimension of the educational process for each specialization.
