By its structure, content and competencies, the ceramic-glass-metal specialization's curricula is ment to ensure the formation of specialists in all these fields of the decoretive arts domain.
Through the complex nature of the practical experience and the diversity of the used materials, the specialisation's graduates become either artists making sculptural or decorative ceramic or installations, or designers within the ceramic or glass industry.
Starting with the year 1990 the three specialisations' (ceramic-glass-metal)curricula was subject of an extensive reorganization in agreement with the contemporary thematic and the pr5esent cultural tendencies having as a goal the reflection of the specific complexity of the field.
The present curricula built in the tradition of the European system of transferable credits contains a wide range of theoretical and practical disciplines, its stake being to ensure a high standard of education in the visual arts, with an emphasis on the importance of the creative professionalism in the field of ceramic-glass- metal.

Competencies

The specific competencies obtained by the department's graduates are: prototype designer for serial functional objects; designer in the environment ceramic; stained-glass designer; archeological and artistic object restaurateur (ceramic and glass); expert in prototype creation for the housekeeping industry; expert in aesthetic environment shaping; expert in the creation of functional and artistic glass objects; expert in restoring ornamental, artistic ceramic and glass objects; expert in creating industrial forms made of ceramic; manager of productive companies in the field; artist specialized in sculptural ceramic; decorative artist specialized in functional products; decorative artist specialized in environment decorations.

The Ceramic–glass–metal specialization owns a 500 sqm surface, divided in 6 workshops for fundamental artistic activities for each year of studies; a 110 sqm hall for the ovens; a laboratory for the chemical process of glass and ceramic decoration; a workshop for the ceramic materials' processing; a workshop for cold shaping techniques.
