About Erasmus
The University of Art and Design of Cluj Napoca offers the possibility of mobility in the European Union Member countries, as well as in the EU partner countries, by virtue of the fact that it has obtained the Erasmus University Charta for the extended period 2007 – 2013.
The following types of mobilities are available for the students in the Erasmus program:
- study mobility, between 3 and12 months long;
- Practical training mobility (placement), between 3 and12 months long.
The Erasmus mobility programs are developed upon the basis of the agreements signed with institutions from: Ireland (Dublin), UK (Birmingham, Dundee), France (Nantes, Rennes, Quimper, Angers, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Saint-Etienne), Spain (Cuenca, Logrono), Portugal (Beja), Belgium (Liege, Brussels), Italy (Torino, Venice, Macerata, Bari, Palermo), Swiss (Geneva), Germany (Saarbrucken), Austria (Wien) , Poland (Krakow, Katowice, Lodz, Poznań, Wrocław), Lithuania (Vilnius), Latvia (Liepaja), Czech Republic (Prague), Slovakia (Banska-Bystrica), Turkey (Izmir, Kutahya) and their goal is the education and formation that should suit the personal learning route of the beneficiary of the mobility, his/her motivations and aptitudes, and should contribute to their development or completion.
• The ERASMUS student is exempt from paying any tuition, examination fees and laboratory fees at the partner university;
• The University of Art and Design shall keep paying the national scholarships granted to its students (scholarship for excellence, for study or social support), during the study period as an ERASMUS student at the partner university;
• The student benefits from the academic recognition of the period of study spent at the partner university, as well as of the results obtained at the exams and other forms of assessment; the period of study abroad shall be consider as part of the program of study at the University of Art and Design ;
• the period of practical training (placement) can be recognized as part of the period of studies of the student;
• the student benefits from the financial support on behalf of the Erasmus Program, by the allowance of a monthly amount called Erasmus grant. The Erasmus financial allowance is meant to cover all the expenses due to the residence abroad (the average grant for study mobility is EUR 300 /month, and the average grant for the placement mobility is EUR 375 month);
• the students with special needs shall be dedicated a special attention.
At the end of the Erasmus mobility, within 1 year, each student who benefited from an Erasmus mobility shall be awarded the document MOBILIPASS by the National Agency of Community Programs in the Area of Education and Professional Formation of Bucharest. MOBILIPASS is a standardized document which helps to record all the periods of trans-national mobility made for the purpose of learning or professional training, performed at any age, educational level, or type of occupation.
Application for the selection contest for Erasmus mobility
The UAD of Cluj-Napoca signs each year inter-institutional agreements which are the base of the Erasmus mobility. On March 15 each year, the list of institutions which signed agreements with our university shall be published, and on April 15 each year the students can apply for an Erasmus mobility at the Office of Community Programs.
The application file shall include:
1. A form of request (which shall be available on the website of the university at the section: Community Programs/Erasmus); IMPORTANT NOTE: the applicant shall present the request with the recommendation from the professor, head of program (in the form section dedicated to this recommendation);
2. Resume;
3. A portfolio in electronic format (CD, DVD);
4. A transcript of records containing the results obtained in all the period before the application;
5. A certificate of linguistic competence.
